XXcLusive: B.o.B. Speaks on Meeting the President: “He Got Me in His iPod”
Atlanta rapper B.o.B was granted the opportunity to perform at the Gen44 Summit in Washington, D.C. and meet President Barack Obama yesterday (September 30). XXLMag.com caught up the 2009 Freshman this a.m. to talk about the monumental experience.
Coming off an opening slot performing for Jay-Z and Eminem at their Home and Home tour, one would assume it would be hard to fulfill those expectations, but Bobby Ray gave back a good report. “It went real well actually man, lotta energy in there,” he said. “On a scale of one to ten it would probably have to [rate it] at 44,” playing on Obama’s title as the 44th President of the U.S.
Performances aside, the ATLien was most excited about speaking with Obama, who said he has B.o.B songs on his iPod. “He got me in his iPod,” Bob said. “I was like you got a real good iPod then. I made a presidential iPod,” he joked.
Asked what went down during their conversation, the Grand Hustle talent said: “He congratulated me on all the success and said he was proud of everything that I was doing. We snapped a few pictures. It was a really good, really good day yesterday.”—Elan Mancini with reporting by Rob Markman
