Video: Kanye West UStream, Def Jam Conference Call | @KanyeWest

If you’re up on twitter or Ustream, which you likely are, given your knowledge of our site, or – heck! – on Kanye West, then you have already noticed that Kanye recorded his second Ustream ever, the first centering on his latest projects and happenings. This recent one, held on November 4th, was a bit different – this time, he fielded questions from a variety of media and, well, ignorant fans whose sole purpose was to barrage Kanye with silly questions and spread useless banter. Aside from all of that, this particular ustream was a bit more personal in that iLLVibes had the exclusive opportunity to ask a question directly to Kanye. (Let’s be real, there are so many questions that could’ve been asked, so our apologies if we didn’t ask yours.) Maybe like you, I’ve been possessed by the 35-minute “Runaway” film, from its angles and colors to the imagery that has galvanized us to think, and so it was only natural that I had asked him about the inspiration. I truly thought he would dive into Michael Jackson and his penchant for short music-video films, but instead Kanye focused on a more intimate answer, one that centered on his own struggles and that of others. Hit the video to hear what he had to say, as well as his discussions about the producers he’s worked with (question courtesy of our friendDJ Heat of WPGC, the album itself, and the assistance from Pusha T, CyHi Da Prynce, and Big Sean.
